CRYSTAL VILLA | SOCHI

Sochi, Russia

This large vacation residence was part of a design competition for a renowned Russian businessman near Sochi, Russia. The highly sloped site backs up to a nature preserve with views in all directions. The concept was to give the residence a “tree house” feel, with large glass walls, jutting balconies, tree-like columns, and a distinctive floating “canopy” of angular roof shapes reminiscent of the forest nearby. The residence contains a three-story lushly landscaped atrium that serves as a center point for the organization of all living quarters. There is also an indoor pool and numerous other amenities such as fitness, sauna, gaming and virtual golf rooms. Designed in association with Bose International.
