LA CENTERRA TOWN CENTER*

Katy, Texas

La Centerra is a mixed-use and retail development that has become the unofficial “downtown” of Katy Texas, a suburb of Houston. The master plan focused on four strategic phases. The first, a “Main Street” design with a landmark tower and events center. Office and “flex” space were situated over retail blocks on either side of a central courtyard. Behind these are placed two parking garages to take most traffic off the main drives. Two one-story retail blocks enclose the court at the south end. Phases Two and Three included mostly restaurants and a micro-grocer. Phase Four includes mostly apartments. The overall plan creates a walkable community of buildings organically reminiscent of a small Texas town downtown.
