The Texas town of Fredericksburg has a great tradition of welcoming new residents to their growing town. Their history is complete with Mexican, French, German, Czech, and Texian waves of immigrants looking for a peaceful land to settle. In the last 20 years the area has been revived by new breweries, and wineries followed by luxury subdivisions. Wealthy empty nesters from San Antonio and Austin are looking for urban semi-dense luxury residences. This project focused on this demographic aiming to create a urban scaled integrated and walkable community. The mostly one-story “zero-lot-line” units are varied in one and two-bedroom sizes, with some having lofts. A central Clubhouse and scattered park areas create a biophilic peaceful environment.
